starfish*butthole: sketchs n' whatnot

Talia * 27 * geek * gamer* feminist* perverted porn peddling artist * writer * alcoholic *

I don't remember the origin of the term "starfish butthole", but my design professor in college used it to refer to really bad work we put on the walls for critique.

Thus, this is my really bad work. And some not so bad, WIP stuff that might look pretty later on. And things that inspire me, like awesome illustrations and graphic design work. And maybe some songs. And porn. Lots of that probably. And raging. And other randomcity I see fit to toss up BECAUSE I DO WHAT I WANT.

WARNING: I like sexy things so beware of lots of NSFWish goodies, especially after work hours.

Because instantly alienating a huge chunk of your demographic through offensive humour is the best way to sell soda pop. (x)

This really is the STUPIDEST marketing add campaign ever.  The first time I saw a commercial for it I was dumbfounded.  The only way I can see them salvaging this campaign is if they made a number of rebuttal adds on why it’s actually not for MEN, and have women doing obviously womanish things while enjoying this bullshit.  But even that is terrible and makes me want to kill myself.

Suffice to say I’ll never be drinking this.

Yeah I don’t drink soda anyway, but I definitely won’t be drinking Dr. Pepper after this :T I’ve seen several of the ads and I think it’s idiotic that their approach to the very over done and cliche “diet food/drinks are not just for women” marketing message is so utterly misogynistic and completely alienating of one of their largest demographics. This campaign doesn’t come across as edgy or borderline but not quite offensive so hur hur it’s still funny. It’s just offensive and stupid.
